Modems

Modems (Modulator demodulator) are device which is used to connect the internet to the computer. Its main function is to convert electrical signals into data and data into electrical signals. There are two types of Modems one is internal and another is external modem internal modem is a Card which is inserted in the motherboard PCI slot internal modems are located inside the computer case. External modems are located outside the computer case. External modems are very faster than internal modems. Internal modems not need any power from outside it get power from motherboard itself but external modem get power separately. Eternal modems use Ethernet or USB cables to connect computer. Now a days wireless external modems are also available in market. Cables are replaced by Bluetooth technology.
